About Us
Multipro is Western Australia’s leading, fully integrated IT and Communications company in offering a complete outsourced IT service, from IT Manager (or CIO) to help desk (service desk), which will scale from 6 to 1000+ person organisations.
A feature of Multipro particularly valued by their clients is their IT Partner - a senior, IT professional assigned to each client to discuss their needs, guide their IT strategy and be available to senior management.
With 70% of their clients in the mining industry, Multipro developed (long before most), the tools and techniques of supporting a remote site with no full-time staff on the ground. Remote support is now normal practice in the IT industry but Multipro have had long experience in this mode.
A further advantage enjoyed by Multipro clients is the experience built in to the IT systems Multipro deploys for its clients. Because Multipro supports and maintains the very systems they build and deploy, they have learnt what to build in to the systems from the start to make them trouble-free and extract maximum return on investment.
Most IT companies today are scrambling to build a managed services offering; Multipro has been delivering IT managed services for over 20 years.
History
Established in 1989 by Managing Director Mark Jackson, Multiprogramming (as it was then known) initially focusing on software development. They brought innovation to road maintenance with voice recognition systems for pavement (road surface) recording - a system called VODEL which sold world-wide. The system was also awarded a Silver Award in the Government Productivity Awards.
Prior to the wide adoption of the Internet, Multipro built and managed a share price distribution system (called Just Data) to thousands of share traders through-out Australia. They also helped retail businesses with retail software and in particular, cost effective communication links between stores.
Being technically very competent, they found themselves increasingly in demand to rectify poorly configured IT systems. Their success and reputation grew along with the managed services side of the business. Their success in building IT systems (particularly VOIP) was recognised with the pinnacle of Western Australia’s IT awards, the WAITTA award for Infrastructure (see Case Studies).
Multipro was the first company in Western Australia (and we believe Australia) to have every one of it’s technical staff a member of the Australian Computer Society (see Industry Accreditation). This means that they have all been assessed by the ACS to meet the requirements of an IT professional, and they are all signatories of the ACS code of ethics. This has given Multipro an advantage, particularly in government contracts.
