Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is a local council waste management for member councils providing services to councils in Perth’s Northern suburbs. Multipro has been the primary supplier of IT service to MRC for several years and worked with MRC to determine the impact of application availability on the business.

As a result of this work and the development of MRC’s IT Strategy (aligned with the Business Strategy), Multipro recommended changes to the existing IT infrastructure, and policies and procedures to improve operations and meet future business requirements.

The key issues identified from meetings with MRC were:

• Updating and standardising assets within the IT infrastructure to meet business requirements and the harsh environmental conditions of the site.
• Providing control, management and reporting of security.
• Upgrading the Email system.
• Providing reliable and secure Remote Access to applications.
• Review and upgrade Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery procedures and systems.
• Upgrades to critical business applications such as NaVision and Wasteman.

Multipro applied the experience it has gained over the last 20 years of Designing, Building, Operating and Maintaining (DBOM) IT infrastructure for numerous customers – living with the systems Multipro builds, provides additional in-sights into the requirements of a viable and cost effective infrastructure. Multipro designed, built and now operates and maintains the new IT Infrastructure for MRC, providing a consolidated, highly available and fault tolerant platform that meets the changing needs of MRC’s business.
